INITIAL CONSULTATIONS

How it works

An Initial Consultation with Sarah takes 60 minutes. Here's what happens:

1. Discussion of your goals and history

Sarah will ask about your health history, any injuries or conditions you're managing, what you've tried before, and what you're hoping to achieve. There are no wrong answers. The more she knows, the better your program.

2. Postural and movement assessment by Sarah

Sarah will guide you through a detailed assessment, watching how your body organises itself, where it compensates, and how it responds under load. This is where Sarah identifies your specific movement patterns and exactly where your body needs attention.

3. Introduction to Pilates equipment and protocols

You'll be introduced to the studio and all the Pilates apparatus you'll be working with. By the time you leave, the equipment will feel familiar and the space will feel welcoming.

4. Your Pilates program and next steps

Sarah will recommend either small group or private sessions based on what she found in your assessment. Most clients move into small group Pilates sessions. Some start with a few private sessions. Sarah will give you her recommendation and help you book your next session.

5. Post-session summary

After your consultation, Sarah will provide a summary of her assessment, your recommended Pilates program, and what to expect moving forward. You'll have everything you need to feel confident and prepared.

Who are Initial Consultations for?

  • Sarah will introduce you to the method and the equipment at a pace that feels comfortable. You'll leave confident and clear on what your program looks like.

  • Sarah will take the time to fully understand your situation, review any relevant reports, and coordinate with your physio or allied health professionals if helpful. You'll leave with a program built carefully around what your body needs right now.

  • Whether you're navigating menopause, managing a condition like osteoporosis or arthritis, or simply investing in staying strong and active as you age, Sarah will build a program that supports your health goals at this stage of life.

  • Sarah will assess your movement patterns against the demands of your sport or discipline and build a conditioning program that strengthens the weak links and supports your performance.

  • Sarah will identify the postural changes and weak patterns that come from sedentary work and build a program that addresses them. Better core strength, improved posture, and a body that works better despite hours sitting.

  • Sarah will take a close look at your current technique, identify where you can progress, and build a program that challenges you in the right ways.
